Laboratories
The Department has 53 laboratories, occupying a total area of 5,837 m².
A reorganization of laboratory spaces is currently under way, with the aim of strengthening the visibility of university facilities as service and collaboration hubs for the local area. This will increase opportunities to develop new funded research activities through access to competitive national and international calls.
In addition, the development of laboratory-based teaching aims to enhance the Department’s educational offer and improve the attractiveness of its degree programmes.

Uniud Lab Village is the University’s advanced research hub.
The University of Udine created this space for technological innovation, where academia and industry can collaborate and share facilities, tools and resources to support local development.
The area, which is continuously expanding, hosts technology laboratories as well as design and development centres run by industrial companies.
The laboratories located there carry out research across a broad range of advanced scientific fields, including mechatronics and robotics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, energy and environmental engineering, cybersecurity, and Agriculture 4.0.
